I started my job as a Junior Developer in December 2024, and the impact AI has had on my daily work since then is crazy.
Before AI, I used to call senior developers every 20 minutes because I constantly had questions or got stuck. Now about 90% of my understanding and implementation comes from prompting Copilot. I rarely need to ask other developers for help, and I almost never get blocked anymore. At the same time, I’ve doubled the number of stories I complete in a sprint.
But my top priority is still making sure I truly understand the code.
Sometimes Copilot implements a feature in five minutes. Then I’ll spend the next two hours researching, testing, and discussing it with the AI until I’m completely sure the solution is correct.
