as an art student who was just subjected to an “ai art show” in an actual gallery, this is both hilarious and deeply disturbing how real it is
the “show” was by a guy named Alexander Reben who’s a complete loser tech bro (he want hard on the NFT grift and is now working the ai grift) it was insane reading the “artist statements” when they were all ai generated too. never been in a more black mirror situation seeing such blatant plagiarism and lack of effort on display as “art” (or the fact this repugnant ass put ai generated “artist statements” next TO ACTUAL FUNCTIONING FIRE ALARMS AND EMERGENCY EXISTS THAT WERE ALREADY THERE AND HAD THE AUDACITY TO CALL IT FOUND ART.) ai tech bros aren’t just lazy, but like actively dangerous to the people around them with their pretentious self-aggrandizing.
