Ok tech bros, let me hit you with this realization:
One day, imagine, I break my arm at a warehouse. It costs about even to replace my arm and "upgrade" me utilizing ai advancements or to train a new employee and pay out comp and/or unemployment. So, they take my arm and now I have a new machine arm. The process has been so refined that there's only a few days of downtime. Now, while daydreaming about my arm, I slip while on a ladder and severely damage my back. I get the same response - strap a machine to my torso and all is good.
What I'm getting at is that it's cheaper to replace part of a broken tool than to buy a new one. We're going to end up like cybermen from dr who.
Why? Because it's cheap to make a person work forever and put the maintenance on them, and less so to build advanced machinery to replace and steal the job in the first place while being dragged through the streets because you're eliminating jobs
This is my conclusion. We aren't even meant to live as long as we already do tbh - and you can't argue that really
