Thank you, Senator for explaining the possibilities of an AI takeover of jobs. While I agree that AI has its advantages, much consideration should be taken into account so that it never replaces humans with machines.
My questions for the tech geniuses are: who will repair broken or dilapidated robots? How will they be maintained and upgraded to consistently work properly? How expensive will it be for companies to replace these machines?
Companies bought into automated phone
lines that frustrate the caller, computers glitch out all the time, software packages and business websites need continual maintenance, self serve banking transactions often need human support, etc. All this might sound ignorant and not tech savy to those who believe robots are the future key holders to boosting business productivity, but in my opinion, computerized robots will never outdo or replace a human workforce of skilled human hands.
