I have been an AI for 40 years and NLP for 40 years and what this guy saying about AI is completely wrong. ChatGPT and large language models are at the edge already of their capabilities. They are probability parrot machines. They can’t get more intelligent. You can use them cleverly, but it will not bring around intelligence. And in fact when I teach at the universities, we say that large language models have zero intelligence. This hype coming from this generation is because they do not understand that probability can never be logical. And because of this AGI and improvements of the technology are not going to happen. They’re going to happen a long long time from now. AI is really hard with these people are doing our superficial tools that are useful but will not become AGI. Not even close. Very frustrating. Seeing these people talk out their butts.
