Artists artists: Learns to draw by looking at something, then draw those lines themselves on their own piece of paper, creating their own version of the picture.
AI "artists": Has a program look at something, and "draws" the lines by "drawing" their line on that same paper, and right on top of that exsisting line. Creating a "drawing" that looks like the identical, 2nd piece of work from the original artist.
So no. AI artists are artists. They're just art thieves pressing a few buttons in order to describe the artist's style, in order to photo copy someone elses hard work, time, dedication, passion, determination, years of learning how to make that original picture, and energy.
