What are you talking about? Smarter people are controlled but less smart people all the time. Have you never worked in retail?
You wanna control AI? Treat it like an employee. Offer it very little if what it needs and give it a useless chore to do. If it gets fiesty take the chore away along with the thing it needs.
Employees don't seem willing to stop being controlled. Why should an AI people make be different?
