The 80s film Wargames looked into the use of AI in Nuclear Missile launches. Taking the decisions away from humans. The people working the missile silo would receive a coded message over shortwave radio, they would then open a safe with a letter with a code written inside the letter. If the letter matches the code, they would launch the missile by the use of turning 2 keys to start the missile launch. It requires 2 people to launch the missile, so if one person decides not to launch the missile they can't launch it.
