As a young senior software engineer, I have spent most of my efforts perfecting my skills, studying every single day, and improving my polyglotism. I have had to shift rapidly to accepting AI as part of my toolchain, then as part of my colleagues, then as the most skilled of my colleagues. It is fascinating how we progress, but it is disarming and discouraging from the perspective of a dystopian future coming straight in our faces.
