Anyone who believes in self-driving cars that are supposed to be on our roads must assume that this can only happen when all vehicles communicate their intentions and routes to other vehicles, and these vehicles can then coordinate with each other, whether with a computer or a human driver. Relying solely on cameras, which are far more susceptible to errors than human eyes (glare, etc.), is playing Russian roulette on our roads. Otherwise, cars will never be able to cope with the unpredictable or foreseeable situations that a human driver with a little experience can handle.
Example:
A driver brakes before every road sign; a human driver understands that this person is looking for something and will anticipate a sudden maneuver from them. How will an autonomous car react?
