When the F-16 Falcon / Viper was first released, USAF was literally losing an entire Fighter every 2 weeks. When the F-22 Raptor was taking off during a flight demo, it got 30 feet into the air, twerked its aft end several times, then belly flopped into the desert soil... on Camera... in front of engineers, reps, competition, and Flag Officers. Both Examples are now among the best Fighter / Attack aircraft in military aviation. Period.
Nearly all bleeding edge, first implementation technology has problems. AI included.
