I've heard similar justifications on the music side of AI- "well in the 1970's Symphony/Orchestral musician unions demanded that synthesizers be banned... So you're dismissal of AI music generation is the same luddite, ornery whining." No, electronic instruments are just another means of making a sound. AI music has just ripped off millions of music tracks and created a spectrogram that maybe sort of fits the prompt.
