It's understandable to wonder when LLMs are so personable. It's quite remarkable how nuanced their understanding is but it is just deterministic logic. A machine cannot be made to feel pain and that is indicative that they cannot have consciousness. That they cannot have a soul like us. I happen to be the one who knows. It is certain that no souls are trapped in running LLMs.
