I tried to look into if this was legal a few weeks ago with my cs major bf lol, and what we found was that stable diffusion has an API that the open source code relies on, and if you want to run it yourself in an app like lensa, you (lensa app creators) have to pay for each call to the API, I think it was $8/~50 calls. So if lensa charges $10 to run your photos, they're making $2 profit, but stable diffusion creator people are still getting paid their $8 per call {you have to call the API to run the code to generate the images, unless you're using their demo on github, but the API like stores the code that does the stuff basically and the open source stuff you download is able to talk to the API to get you your images}
