I'm an attorney and gpt is a powerful tool, but obviously it's not a search engine and can't be trusted. I've never even seen gpt4 produce anything that I thought was good enough to use, (not even talking about court, like not even emails) without major editing. It's like any powerful tool, if it's used incorrectly or carelessly it can absolutely kill you. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who think, because it's AI and intended to make stuff easier, it's ok to use it carelessly and use it without a human in the workflow. Wrong. That will almost certainly lead to disbarment. More attention has to be paid to AI generations than anything you have a paralegal or intern write. There needs to be a human in the loop.
