Most of these LLMs were trained using data scraped from the internet over the last 20 years, when the neo-nazi and russian glavset trolls were at their peak of posting hate and invective.
Since LLMs are basically probability algorithms with a large corpus of words to choose from, having 20 to 30% of those words come from hate speech on racist chat forums is going to skew the responses of every prompt.
