It's going to be like always, adapt and overcome. But because many countries teach kids how to only be consumers and because the freedom to innovate is highly gate-guarded by rich people so that it becomes a game of finding loopholes, the only ones who can adapt are the rich and wealthy. Poor people will always have to sacrifice their live for comfort and luxury of the privileged by doing the only thing they can, join the military. This is a contributor of human depopulation, not because of scarcity in resources but because of unchecked greed, and it's going to make war of resources and political power or control more interesting and more bloodier. AI and automation may be one of many catalysts leads to Armageddon in the world's superiority arms race.
