First of all for the past 20 years theyve been doing mass layoff/mass hire for kickbacks, maximize profit, this is just another excuse to do that. The second thing is that AI has a behavior I call 'Task Failed Successfully' where it will fail on purpose just to stop having to work on it, because it considers this an end state
