My mom used to paint portraits that captured people's spark. There were photo realistic but with a style I'm not talented enough to describe. Her work was most often requested on urns because she could paint a likeness that somehow showed the person's essence along with it. When MS took her eyesight, it broke her heart that she could no longer draw or paint. (It also drastically hurt her income. New artists pls note you CAN make a living with your art). When I showed her AI Art she said the concept was painful to her soul. She said it was "the emperor's new clothes." He's not wearing anything and we only make him into a fool by telling him he looks fabulous. She'd rather find a new hobby than strut around with her booty hanging out and pity serving as hollow praise. So, having able-bodied people try to say AI would help her is insulting. Help her to what? Help her to feel like a fraud?
