I came looking for this video because I'm tired of people being so religiously anti-AI. I think you are absolutely right that people are afraid of change, but people are also tribalistic. And this is just another "tribe" or "team" people attach themselves to. They will scream all over the internet about how much they hate AI - but never have any good reason why. I'm an artist, too. I don't see the issue of "machine learning = theft". Unless you as a human artist has never seen a single piece of art in your life, anywhere (impossible unless you lived 100 000+ years ago), you are copying what you have seen before. Everything we know how to do as artists, is by learning from those who came before us. Even if we don't use references, we have seen thousands of artworks throughout our lives, so we know what they CAN look like, and we mimic that. It won't replace us. 3D-printing exists: People still want expensive sculptures. Same goes for molding figurines into cheap plastic, which has existed for decades. Art prints are a thing, people will still pay a fortune for a real painting. AI art is just another tool that we can learn how to live with, or sit and whine about.
