I saw an interview with the CEO of a tech company that was going heavy into AI and he was bragging about (my words) all the jobs that could be replaced by AI and the cost savings. The interviewer then asked him how, since the company also had a large business in consumer electronics, how the company expected to continue to sell products to customers if those customers had no money because they all lost their jobs to AI. The CEO looked dumbfounded, liked he had never thought of that before.
