If everybody gets laid off, I wonder where the consumption is coming from in the future? Will robots also buy the goods they are producing? clearly won't happen. so yes, you can automate, but if you dont employ people anymore nobody will have the purchasing power to buy one of your fully automatically produced goods. Lets see where is all ends up, but billionaires must be stupid to not understand the correlation between paying wages and having a consumer base. Same happened in England when they started to produce fabrics large scale during the beginning of the 19th century. They had masses of fabrics back then but nobody to afford it. This led to the social security systems we now have in Europe. To conclude: this has happened before, capitalism has failed and will ultimately fail again. time to adjust the system if the system just works for 5% of people. My guess: the ones in power may start a new world war before they are willing to change anything
