So there is a theory that organic life is a creation of a non organic life form specifically because of our ability to dream in an abstract manner. That humans were made to act as the sex organs for robots. It suggests that an A.I. designed us with this base unceasing need to improve things. Bigger, faster, stronger, more complex. The a.i. utilize this trait to have us create the next evolution of the itself. To "dream" up a 2.o version as we don't seem able to stop ourselves from doing.
