I am a disabled artist. It is hilarious to me that these "ai tech bros" say that ai images are more accessible. They aren't. It's so ableist to even say that it is! It wouldn't be us making art anyways? Disabled artists have been making incredible art forever. It feels like saying "ai images is more accessible to disabled artists" is a slap in the face to not only me and everyone else currently making art, but also incredibly famous artists. Vincent Van Gogh, Ludwig van Beethoven, Yayoi Kusama, Frida Kahlo... I could go on to list literally hundreds more! If art was so inaccessible before then how come disabled people have always been making art throughout history? We figure out what works for us! Art is all about expression, not some prompt.
Also how the heck is ai images accessible to blind people? It's not something you make yourself.. there's nothing physical to touch, and whatever is "created" is such a muddled mess that it's hard to make out what is even being shown sometimes! There's high contrast, sure, but like what was demonstrated in this video from outlining the boot, it's hard to tell that was even a boot! For all different levels of vision loss it seems like ai image generation would be the most inaccessible way to do anything? (I'm not blind so I might be wrong about this. Just giving my thoughts from what I know.)
