Disagree with her argument. AI is not just spitting out other people’s copyrighted works. It’s learned from those works, like anyone would learn from reading books. It’s no different than a researcher who reads 100s of books to become an expert, and then speaks in the subject in their own words. Nobody accuses a researcher of “taking over all the rights” of the authors they’ve read. No author would say, sure I wrote this book, and I was paid for it, but I didn’t think anybody would learn from it; I think I have an ownership claim to their thoughts now.
