If you want to understand why chatgpt acts that way, its worthwhile to take a quick look at the concept of discrimination. Discrimination is the result of prejudice plus power. It comes from a place of power. Its not the same thing to question a person in a position of power, possibly helping them evaluate the fairness of that position and generally driving a fairer outcome, as to question a person in a position of lower power, just reaffirming their relatively lower position, while using your own power to hold it in their faces. You would criticise a CEO on why he doesnt pay any taxes, but doing so with a homeless person would be rude and unjust.
Every person is of course more complex than that. You can and should absolutely criticise individual people if they are behaving problematically. But here you are asking general questions, which points chatgpt to take a perspective of the structural dynamics. And thats where its just not the same to talk of a marginalised group or one in the position of power.
