To be fair if AI can eventually execute from Jira ticket to PR, even if we keep a software engineer to review the PR, wouldnt we need a lot less engineers than we do now? I think even given AI limitations, theres still valid concerns of job displacement. Maybe there will always be software engineers, but theres still the question if we'll need as many.
