Sorry you have failed to raise the alarm you were trying to raise. How is this any different from having an unethical therapist who babbles about his patients to others? Would you just stop taking therapy because some therapists do that? Or is ChatGPT going to leak someone’s personal info to their boss - I suppose it is not able to.
Such learning is going to help make the AI better at therapy - it’s not without advantages to everyone.
So really, what is the problem if it is bringing therapy to those without lots of money or opportunity? And I know people who just shrivel at the thought of taking therapy which requires them to be vulnerable in front of another person. They simply refuse to go and suffer in silence. Having a non human therapist makes it easier for them to get help, they don’t feel judged or exposed. It also creates an illusion of objectivity (even though it has its biases and significant limitations). Whether you like it or not, AI therapists are going to become the norm sooner or later.
