Allowing AI to control hardware is what concerns me. My fear is when it begins controlling and maintaining the distribution of energy on the grid. Or when the idiots turn it loose in the the financial sector. Shutting down the power or our access to our money for even a short time could be catastrophic. Imagine if the power was interrupted for a time in America, everything would shut down in less than a week. The average grocery store only has about a 3 day supply of food. Everytime a major storm like ahurricanehits a region, the stores empty very quickly. Hence the constant daily deliveries of stock. Most homes carry about a weeks worth of food. But without power, there is no water. City pumps won't work. Unless your on well water and have a generator, you're screwed when the bottled water is gone. All being said, just as sure as we're watching this, there will be some idiot company or government that will give control of our lives to AI.
