Yeah because there is NEVER any bad intent or weaponization against political dissidents or whistleowers or hell even a mom or dad that made a fuss at a school board meeting... And hey we are all already being tracked to hell with no real way to opt out of any of it so why shouldn't we just add more unavoidable layers of continuous tracking?
BUT THE BAD GUYS WILL BE CAUGHT! DON'T YOU WANT THE BAD GUYS TO BE CAUGHT? IF YOU'RE A GOOD PERSON YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!
That's great, I want the bad people caught. That still doesn't mean you should have unfettered access to tracking every single person in the country with no reason or warrant. I don't want to walk around worrying if I'm one AI glitch away from a felony traffic stop, or one political grudge can be weaponized against you... And truth be told, bad guys or no, I just don't want to live in a dystopia big brother survalience state. I feel like every year we move closer to having to switch 1984 to the non-fiction section... Or more likely to the burn pile.
