Thats all just great!... but what if you just want exactly what you had? I use Google Assistant ALL the time AS A DEVICE. I use it as a calcuator, as a Currency and Imperial / Metric convertor, for basic information look-up, for spelling checks, to control Smart-Home devices, etc. None of these things require embellishment, or the skills of a Method Actor!
I have deliberately avoided activating Gemini, yet the responses now have an AI taint, and are becoming more and more off-beam.
When I ask my watch, or Home Hub to 'Turn on the back garden lights' as I have done hundreds of times, I get a bit miffed when I am left in the dark, but I get presented with the Kew Gardens Mid-winter Light Show programme... really useful in Mid-summer New Zealand!
