I completely agree with Sir Penrose. What is now called AI can perfectly mimic the human mind. It can think, understand, mimick feeling. But there is not (and in my humble opinion, will not be) any consciousness to it. Intelligence is merely confused with information or memory. Intelligence is not memory or permutating information which is stored in a memory. Also consciousness is being confused with different grades of wakefulness. Wakefulness is not consciousness.
