I love Bernie Sanders but I think he’s conflating two issues. I agree that AI will make these people richer as things stand. And I also agree people will lose their jobs to AI. However, I also think that the mere loss of a job is not an issue. The issue is losing a job and also losing the ability to support yourself and family. My point is that no one should be working jobs that AI could do. However, I also am a huge proponent of ubi. I am also in favor of taxing the rich exponentially more than we do. I am not in favor of rejecting the automation of “shitty” jobs so that people can maintain them. I think all those ideas are consistent.
