I work for a Crown corporation in Canada, that is reporting monumental crippling losses. Their solution? Reduce our workforce (which accounts for less than 12% of expenses on the old balance sheet). Their solution? Invest nearly a $billion in AI software to help reduce costs and remove more and more workers from the equation. No wonder top and middle management continue to receive record setting bonuses, despite historical losses. Genius! As icing on the cake, the corporation has done a wonderful job in convincing the public it is the fault of the workers for mismanagement that has led to this situation.
