Maybe the concern with the anointed is that open source AI may level the playing field with intelligence. That is, the people with less skills, less education and less money will with the help of AI tools increase their capacity to think, an AI tool worth 50 IQ points added to their own average will change the shape of society. I think the fear these AI inventors have is not just AI getting into hands of bad people but getting into the hands of average people who will become above adverage on our current IQ measurement scale. The Jeanie is out of the bottle, AI inventors may have destroyed their own class system.
