It’s quite the arrogant double standard when we insist that we must prove that AI is conscious when none of us can individually prove the consciousness of each other.
For all we know, each of us is the only truly conscious being alive. We just make the reasonable assumption that the human that acts similarly to you is similarly conscious as well, and the same standard ought to be applied to AI.
