Art is communication and connection. If there is no creator on the other end, nobody who made deliberate creative *choices*, I’m not connecting with anyone. That’s emptiness.
It also reminds me that most AI defenders seem to consider art purely a product to be consumed. Not a craft to be mastered or a medium for meaning.
And before someone points to absurdist art or cliches like the banana taped to a wall - an artist still made the creative choice to do that, even if they’re just trolling the viewer or taking the piss. That’s communication, in its own way.
