I wonder what AI would do in the world without humans... We have unintentionally broken some barrier in the animal kingdom where not only are we top of the food chain, but we can radically manipulate our environment around us, and we constantly do so at the detriment of most other living things. Hippies, philosophers, and your aunt Carol have been right all along... And if we could learn to live more simply and with nature, we wouldn't inevitably be looked at as something that needs to be destroyed. But no, we took it too far.
