What bugs me is that movie studios utilize some fashion of AI in their own ways already, and they receive infinite praise for it. It eases their workload, so they can tell a story. A good example would be the the facial lines on characters in *Spider-Verse*, or automated rotoscoping. Angel Engine is an incredibly interesting story that they creator didn't have the ability to portray themselves, but wanted to portray anyway. So, they turned to AI. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It enabled the creator's creativity in their story-writing to be exposed to the masses who likely wrote them off as an AI slop channel. It's not like they lie about it or shy away from it either, they're very open about AI usage - it's even the suffix in their IG handle. Triple over, the environmental impact of AI is a problem for sure, but let's not pretend that Google isn't cooling the same server rack that's hosting this video to 87 thousand people the exact same way; with fresh water, likely discarded as waste. The argument of environmental conservatism only makes sense if you apply it across the board; sitting on top of a high horse while the Samsung blows mountains away to gather the lithium or cobalt that keep your phone functional is just outright dishonest.
