ΟΚ, AI might be a threat, though i highly doubt these large language models can lead to Super inteligence. But even so, there is a much larger and more imminent threat to our doorstep, the big elephant in the room, climate change and we have no real solution about that. So many places on earth are suffering from droughts, extreme weather events have become regular, permafrost is melting releasing huge amounts of methain, we are so reliant on fossil fuels, not only for energy but also for their derivatives plastic, steel, concrete and ammonia which is essential for fertilizers. We consume our future generations's supplies to feed the earth population and doing so we have killed the insects of the earth disrupting ecosystems, while the organic layers of soil that has enougj organic matter is also decreasing and it takes thouands of years to be restored. AI is the best bet we got to help us solve these real issues. In the face of them any job disruption seems pretty insignificant.
