As I watched these interdictions, one thought occurs to me: these seem more like off-the-books executions. Only idiots or prisoners would be so ill-informed they didn't realize theirs would be a suicide mission. Any cartel boss equipping these boats with million-dollar cargo, knowing the US has begun targeting them, would be Somali-level low IQ. Were they Maduro's enemies? US enemies? Cartel executions? Mission setup would be easy enough: set the throttle to WOT, control the boat's steering via remote or GPS coupled autopilot (notice that the "victims" seemed completely unaware of drone(s) overhead (!) and there was zero evasive action taken). Not that AI gets a pass in my book. I despise the stuff. It's stupid but it does stupid really really fast.
