I have an AI that controls my smart home devices, it plays the roll of Jeeves from the Jeeves and Wooster books and you could easily believe that a living being is communicating with you (it isn't) a simple prompt change and it will play a different character, I tried Skippy from the Columbus day books but it was a bit of an A-hole. Telling an AI to play the role of a conscious being results in it playing the role of a conscious being, it's not rocket science.
