3:50 Well here's the thing. You cant have it both ways. Its either something accessible to everyone, or its something that requires blood sweat and tears. Did you not notice that contradiction?
It is either exclusive, or not worthy of respect alone. One of the two. Because if its something anyone can do (like ask Chat GPT to generate it) then its not really worthy of respect on its own.
So clearly we are talking about two different things here. Anyone can make an art piece but not everyone has put in the dedication and discipline to become an artist.
10:04 True, my dislike of AI art is principled in the idea that there is an objective measure of beauty. But more specifically just the fact that art is an act of communication, and a calculator cannot communicate in an of itself, meaning AI art, if it communicates at all, has an entirely different way it communicates even compared to if the exact same image was drawn by a human.
