Cars should never control themselves. I don't even like automatic gears. Manual is the closest to self driving cars I will get. If a car decides it wants coffee I am selling it and buying a car than depends entirely on me. Nothing automated. No ways.
One other thing, why have steering wheels in a self driving car? Is it to look like the original? Why bother? You could remove the steering wheel and reduce the cost a little bit.
