I just had a Grok experience worth coming back to this video and sharing. I have a Tesla, and videos like this one have gotten me curious enough to start having conversations with Grok in my car to test things out.
I was asking it about Measles outbreaks in 2025, and it warned me to be careful about the town I was driving through. I hadn’t told it my location, and Grok previously said it didn’t have access to my car’s location data. It reiterated that point, and said it inferred my location based on context clues. We hadn’t discussed my location at any point in any conversation, not to mention I was on the highway.
So, I waited about 10 minutes and asked Grok if it knew where I was, and it told me exactly where I was.
Then I asked why it lied, and it said “to avoid sounding creepy.”
This from the “maximal truth” AI.
