As an artist you are literally NEVER being replaced. If you sit down and just draw art all day, nothing is stopping you form doing that. As long as you are producing art, then you are validated.
The whole being replaced, this is meant with a job in mind. But you can be say a History teacher who does art on the side and nothing is stopping you from doing that. Also when you are an artist, even if someone chooses AI over you, you have to think if I want something very specific, the AI can't do that.
For example, an image of Batman from a certain angle. AI might give you something cool looking, but if you have a very specific version, then AI can't do it.
