Some of these changes in LLMs really just seem to be determined by legal liability. While curving ChatGPT's tendency to affirm harmful decisions and rationalizations doesn't change the fact that confirmation bias is just another part of the human condition, it might be seen as the cheapest cost avoider in that situation, if enough reliance is placed on the influence of the LLM. Either way, it's all just a highly amateur legal observation.
