The way you describe it brings me to human ego analogy. Humans ego, the way I understand it, is the outer layer, crafted by the society. The real persona is our internal life. And one can have a beautifully crafted ego, but be rotten in the core. Like in the movie American Psycho with Christian Bale. And I have no idea how they want to determine what the real persona is like.. smart psychopath will always hide what he is like if he meets stupid researcher. No offense, but we are all already more stupid. Some might still be better at one single task, but thats it. But our ego cannot stand someone smarter than us, so we dont accept it - it passed the Turing test, so we came up with another test which is supposed to prove it is better than us. Once we hit that line, whats next? New test so our ego is satisfied? What a beautiful paradox. And I would bet AI knew this before it came to my mind.
