I think the question of AI in the art world largely comes down to what it is you value about art.
Do you value art as a mode of communicating ideas? Ideas can be communicated in infinitely many ways; AI is just one more item on that list. If the idea is communicated, then mission success.
Do you value art as a trade skill akin to glassblowing or construction? Then AI won't satisfy you, because the individual never figures out how to create the final product on their own. Mission failed.
Do you value art for the sensory experience of the final product? If so, AI might satisfy you, but you'll probably be turned off by any unusual fragments that pop up, like weird hair or asymmetrical ears or smudged details. Human-made art of good quality will be more likely to satisfy what you're looking for compared to current AI tech.
Different people value different facets of art for different reasons. There's definitely something to be said about how these AI models are being trained, but I don't think it's a convincing argument to project one person's values regarding art onto someone else who might not value it for the same reasons. I think this goes both ways, by the way. Pro-AI and anti-AI people alike tend to fall victim to projecting their own valuation of art onto other people.
