I agree with all points, AI is hurting artists, but the real problem is that artist are dealing with the wrong crowd, the datasets and the AI are not made by these pro AI people, they just try out the technology, they are not artists, they don't understand art and artists and they don't want to, they see this harsh of a response from the artists as a personal attack towards them, to which they respond to by attacking artists, the results in a perpetual war, an "us" vs "them" where both sides shove dirt on each other and no one achieves anything except for the real culprits the corps who use this as an opportunity to further their greed, it is the artists whose livelihood is in danger not the pro AI crowd because this is just a side gig for them, the only thing effective artists can do is ignore these trolls and continue their fight with the real problem, the tech corps actively destroying their privacy laws, using subtle language to create further divide, and the continuing enshittification of modern society also majority of these models are cloud based, meaning that the user does not own them and at any moment can lose access to them, bring awareness to this fact as an opportunity to make them oppose the corporations, who are the real problem behind this
